About

A small team. A serious commitment to your child’s progress.

Big agencies treat students like a number. Most private tutors lack structure. We built a small, specialist team: every tutor knows their subject deeply, every lesson is planned, every parent knows how their child is doing.

1

Real understanding beats memorising tricks.

We teach the why behind every method. Students who understand it remember it under exam pressure. The ones who only memorised it forget.

2

Patience is the most underrated skill in teaching.

Confidence is built one small win at a time. We make sure your child gets it, not just nods along.

3

Honesty serves students better than flattery.

We tell parents what’s actually happening: what’s strong, what’s wobbly, what we’re doing about it. No glossy reports.

4

Steady growth wins.

We don’t cram. We want your child more confident in six weeks than today, and again the six weeks after that.

How we choose and grow our tutors.

Every tutor completes intensive in-house training before their first lesson. Each has years of teaching experience and top grades in the subject they teach. We don’t recruit anyone who hasn’t been there themselves. On the team, they keep developing: peer review of lesson plans, subject CPD, direct student feedback.

Subjects

Specialist tutors in the subjects we teach.

We don’t spread thin. We teach what we know deeply, and we cover every major exam board.

Mathematics & Further Maths

Maths is what we get asked about most. Whether your child is stuck on fractions in Year 7, quadratics at GCSE, or aiming for A* in Further Maths, we have a tutor at that level.

  • KS2 (Y5–6): Number sense, fractions, percentages, basic algebra.
  • KS3 (Y7–9): Algebra, geometry, ratios, statistics.
  • GCSE (Y10–11): Full syllabus coverage, Foundation & Higher tier.
  • A-Level Maths: Pure, Mechanics and Statistics modules.
  • Further Maths: Complex numbers, matrices, decision maths.
  • STEP & MAT prep: Targeted coaching for Oxbridge & Imperial.

Boards: AQA · Edexcel · OCR · OCR MEI

Sciences

Physics, Chemistry and Biology at GCSE and A-Level. Students come to us with one of three problems: they understand it in class but freeze in exams, they memorised it but can’t apply it, or they want top grades for medicine or engineering. We rebuild the underlying concepts so the material sticks.

  • GCSE Physics, Chemistry, Biology: combined & triple.
  • A-Level Sciences: exam technique and stamina.
  • Med/Eng uni prep: analytical thinking interviews demand.
  • Real-world analogies, lots of diagrams, and students explaining it back in their own words.

Boards: AQA · Edexcel · OCR Gateway · OCR Twenty First Century

Computer Science

Computer Science is half logic, half coding, and most students are strong in one but not the other. We bridge the gap. Our tutors studied CS at university and have written real production code, so they teach how it actually works, not just the textbook version.

  • GCSE: Computational thinking, Python, data representation, networks.
  • A-Level: Algorithms & data structures, OOP, theory of computation, SQL.
  • NEA mentoring: the dreaded coursework, we’ve helped many through it.
  • University CS prep: recursion, complexity, software engineering.

Boards: AQA · OCR

English

English at KS2 through to A-Level: Language and Literature. We help students who can talk about a text but freeze when it comes to writing about it, and the ones who can write essays but can’t squeeze marks out of mark schemes.

  • KS2/KS3: Reading comprehension, grammar, building writing confidence.
  • GCSE Language: Unseen extracts, essay structure, descriptive and persuasive writing.
  • GCSE Literature: Set texts, contextual analysis, exam-ready quotations.
  • A-Level: Critical theory, comparative essays, NEA coursework support.

Boards: AQA · Edexcel · OCR

Pick One-to-One if…

  • They have specific weak topics that need targeted work.
  • They’re aiming for top grades or competitive university courses.
  • They’ve struggled in classroom settings before.
  • They have exam-related anxiety.
  • You want maximum flexibility on schedule and content.

Pick Group Premium if…

  • They learn well alongside peers.
  • They’re confident with the basics and want structured progression.
  • They benefit from seeing how others approach problems.
  • You want strong tuition at a more accessible price point.

Can I switch? Yes. Many students start in groups and move to one-to-one near exams, or the other way round.

How it works

From “we’re thinking about a tutor” to “they’ve actually improved.”

Five steps. Here’s exactly what happens.

1

Free 15-min consultation

A quick call. You tell us about your child: year, exam board, struggles, goals. We tell you honestly if we can help.

2

Free trial lesson

We match your child to a specialist tutor and run a free trial. No card details, no obligation.

3

Lessons begin

Weekly lessons start, usually within 7 days. Each lesson is planned in advance with tailored homework.

4

Progress reports

A brief written update every 4–6 weeks: what’s clicked, what we’re working on, what’s next.

5

Ongoing review

Regular check-ins. If the format, frequency or tutor isn’t working, we change it.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t lock you into long contracts.
  • We don’t pretend every student is doing brilliantly.
  • We don’t push extra lessons you don’t need.
  • We don’t hide our pricing until you’ve had a “consultation.”
Pricing

Honest pricing. No hidden fees.

Weekly billing, no long-term contracts. Block and sibling discounts on request.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Getting started

How do I book a tutor?

Book a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll match your child to a tutor and arrange a free trial within a week.

Is the trial lesson really free?

Yes. No card details, no catch. If the fit isn’t right, try another tutor or walk away.

How quickly can lessons start?

Usually within 7 days of your consultation. Sometimes sooner.

Lessons and tutors

Will my child have the same tutor every week?

Yes. Your child has their tutor, and the tutor builds a long-term picture of how they learn.

What if my child doesn’t get on with the tutor?

Tell us. We’ll switch them to a different tutor. No charge, no awkwardness.

How long are lessons?

60 minutes standard. 45 mins for younger students, 90 mins for A-Level intensive prep, 1 hr 20 mins for group sessions.

What technology do I need?

A laptop or iPad and stable internet. Lessons run on Google Meet, so click the link we send. A quiet space helps. Paper for working through problems is handy but not required.

Subjects and exam boards

Which exam boards do you cover?

Maths: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, OCR MEI. Sciences: AQA, Edexcel, OCR Gateway, OCR Twenty First Century. Computer Science: AQA, OCR. If yours isn’t listed, ask us.

Do you teach for Oxbridge admissions tests (STEP, MAT, ESAT)?

Yes. Maths admissions tests are a specialism. Discuss it in your free consultation.

Do you tutor for 11+ or independent school entrance?

Currently no. We focus on Year 5 onwards in mainstream curriculum.

Pricing and payment

How does pricing work?

You pay weekly by bank transfer. Block bookings (6 or 12 lessons) come with a small discount. Full pricing is on our Pricing section.

Do you offer discounts for siblings?

Yes, plus block bookings. Ask in your consultation.

What’s your cancellation policy?

24 hours’ notice: rescheduled or refunded. Less than 24 hours: charged in full. Group no-shows: not charged.

Progress and reporting

How will I know if my child is making progress?

A brief written update every 4–6 weeks. Email us between updates anytime. Close to exams we go fortnightly.

Will you talk to me as a parent, or only to my child?

Both. With younger students, parents are central. With older students, we deal directly with them and loop parents in on progress.
